1. Empty the radiator: The first thing we must do to change the vehicle’s thermostat is to empty the entire radiator. The vehicle’s radiator is full of water and in order to change the thermostat correctly, we are going to have to empty the entire radiator. This is because if you try to change it with a full radiator, the engine can be damaged. To do this, we are going to have the engine completely cold and then we are going to raise the car a bit with a hydraulic jack and a lift. Next, we are going to remove all the water and coolant using a hose. We are going to do this with gloves, since we could damage our hands because this liquid is corrosive to the skin. After this, we are going to proceed to remove all the liquid into a container, which will serve us later to be able to recycle it.  The liquid should never be left in the environment, since it is considered a highly polluting liquid and could damage the environment. 2. Remove the old thermostat: The next step, without taking off our gloves, is to remove the thermostat in poor condition, the one that was there before, since we must replace it to be able to change it for the new one that we have bought. 4. Replace the cables and the radiator: Once we have finished with this, we are going to refill the radiator with a new coolant, since without this all this will not work. The way to do this is by again using a hose placed in the place where we have removed it before. We are going to take the new cooling liquid and we are going to fill the radiator correctly. After this, we are going to remove all the hoses, we are going to remove the cables and we are going to be able to circulate in the correct way, as long as the thermostat is correctly positioned, we will be able to use the vehicle and have the vehicle temperature working again.
