Choosing gasoline for your car can be a complicated task, since there are different types of gasoline to choose from in the vehicle, each one with different characteristics that will make the car have a different performance depending on the gasoline that has been chosen.
In the American continent, there are three types of gasoline for your car, regular gasoline, supreme gasoline, and premium gasoline. These gasolines are arranged in order of octane number and, therefore, in order of price.
This gasoline system of the American continent is somewhat peculiar, since normal gasoline has less octane than normal gasoline from our country, but premium gasoline has more octane than super gasoline from our country.
In our country the system is different, since there are only two types of gasoline, normal 95 octane gasoline and super 98 octane gasoline. Besides, then we have diesel, which is always the same but with different additives if the type changes.
One of the mistakes that people make is to believe that super gasoline is always better than normal. Not by putting a gasoline with more octane we are going to have a better performance in our vehicle, since each car is a world and responds one way or another.
For example, there are cars that burn too much with super gasoline, since it has too much octane for the engine that these cars have. On the other hand, there are other vehicles that need super gasoline to function properly, since normal gasoline is insufficient to function correctly.
Today we are going to explain what type of gasoline you should choose in each case, whether normal or standard gasoline or super or premium gasoline (there is no supreme gasoline in our country). So pay close attention if you want to take maximum care of the health of your car and the duration of its fuel.
Instructions for choosing gasoline for your car – Regular, Supreme or Premium
- Normal gasoline: The first type of gasoline that we must take into account is the type of gasoline called normal, which has 95 octane. You know it’s the standard type because it has the 95 icon next to it. It is also known by the name unleaded gasoline, since it has been removed to pollute less. It is the cheapest type of gasoline, the most standard and the most widely used. It is recommended for most low-power cars, that is, cars that have less than 120 horsepower and are not used much. If super gasoline was put into those cars, it would shorten the life of the engine quite a bit, so it should be noted that you should use regular gasoline if your car has low power.
- Super gasoline: Now we are going to talk about the type of super gasoline, a type of gasoline that is widely used and very popular throughout the world. Super gasoline in our country has 98 octane, it can be easily found because it has 98 written next to it and it is also known as leaded gasoline. This gasoline is more expensive than the normal one, since it has more additives to make it more powerful, therefore, it is necessary to put a little more price to compensate for the additives that it has. This is the gasoline used in high-powered cars, sports cars, and racing cars, as it burns better than regular gasoline. However, it has two serious drawbacks that we must take into account. In the first place, it is a gasoline that pollutes a lot, since additives such as lead make it more polluting. Secondly, it is a gasoline that spoils small cars, because as I already said, it is too much power for them,
- Diesel: Now we are going to talk about the other type of fuel, diesel. Also known as diesel, it is a very popular alternative to gasoline. It is assumed that there is only one type of diesel, since it does not have an octane number of anything like gasoline. However, diesel does have variations between one brand and another. Quality diesels have a series of better additives, which give an extra push to your engine, on the other hand, poor quality diesel will not work as well, lasting less time in the tank and can even damage the engine. Normally the best diesel is from the big brands, like Repsol, which have a special formula with additives that makes the fuel much more efficient. Therefore, I would not risk buying cheap diesel, since in the long run cheap will be expensive and you will end up spending much more fuel this way.
