- Water -if you have chosen 96 degree alcohol, to reduce the graduation-.

- Small funnel -optional-.
Instructions to make a car air freshener
- First of all, you should know that there are many different ways to make car fresheners. And there are numerous modalities-spray, in a bag, in a dispenser, etc.-. Thus, we are going to explain how to do it so that you get an air freshener in a container for flavorings, that is, a small plastic utensil in which you can regulate the way in which the smell comes out.
- In this case, you can use a container that you have empty at home -in this sense, you must clean it deeply- or buy it in household products stores. Note that you can also use an empty car air freshener; In this case, clean its container thoroughly and use the container to refill it with your homemade air freshener.
- Thus, the first step will be to prepare the alcohol mixture. To do this, you have two options; The first one is to buy a low-alcohol, that is, the alcohol that is used to make alcoholic beverages and which, thanks to its low alcohol content, maintains the essence of the scents that you are going to mix. Otherwise, you can use the traditional ‘curing’ alcohol, that is, 96-degree alcohol. In this case, you will have to reduce the alcohol with water. Thus, we recommend that you put a third part of alcohol and two parts of water. For example, if the air freshener will be 75 centilitres, you should pour 25 centilitres of alcohol for 50 centilitres of natural water.
- Once you have the alcohol prepared in a glass container or deep dish, mix the water and alcohol well and then pour the oil in essence. Thus, you can choose the smell and aroma that you like the most; keep in mind that it will be a smell that you will smell daily, so try to choose a perfume that you really like and that is not too strong.
- The next step will be -as we said- add a few drops of essential oil to the alcohol mixture. Thus, if the flavoring container has a capacity for 75 centilitres, we recommend that you add about 7-8 drops of oil. This will be enough, since these oils are very concentrated. Once you have the alcohol with the essential oil, stir well; the mixture should be homogeneous.
- When you have the mixture ready, it will be time to prepare the container to be filled. Thus, open the container and make sure it is very clean. On the other hand, if the essential oil is of a floral aroma or similar, you can put a stem or a flower of the smell, that is, a branch of rosemary, mint, some dehydrated red fruit. In this case, while the smell is more intense, it will also decorate your flavoring.
- The next step will be to fill this container; For this, you can help yourself with a funnel -if you wish-, otherwise, you can pour the mixture very carefully. The idea is that the container is filled practically to the top but without overflowing. Thus, you can then cover your container and regulate the wings of the cap so that the smell gradually comes out.
- With everything, you will already have your homemade flavoring for your car with the smell that you want. The last step will be to place this container in a safe place in your car, that is, in a place where it does not tip over and does not bother you when driving.
Tips for making a car air freshener
- This type of homemade air freshener lasts about 20 days. After these days, the smell will be less intense; Thus, we recommend that you change your car air freshener every 30 days.
- If you are not going to use the air freshener, you should cover it with plastic wrap or foil until you are going to use it; thus, you will prevent the mixture from evaporating and keeping it intact.
