Infractions for violation of maximum speed 120 km/h:

  1. 121/150km/h; fine, €100; No point.
  2. 151/170km/h; fine, €300; points, -2.

  4. 181/190km/h; fine, €500; points, -6.
  5. 191km/h; fine, €600; points, -6.

Other traffic penalties

  • Having a vehicle in very poor condition that threatens your safety and that of others.
  • Bringing in your vehicle any devices that interfere with the nation’s speed cameras is a very serious infraction.
  • The amount for having these devices would be €6,000 and six points less on the card.
  • Driving under the influence of psychotropic substances that exceed the limits of regulations is a serious offence.
  • On the other hand, the fine for excess alcohol is €500 and six points less to the license.
  • Take into account that if the infraction is a repeat offence, the penalty that you will have to pay is €1,000.
  • However, if it is a question of intoxication by other psychotropic substances, the debt will be €1,000.

Contempt that subtract points on the card

Paying your traffic fines in Spain is very simple, you just have to follow the following steps:

  1. The DGT has an electronic page at your disposal so that you can cancel all your fines.
  2. You can enter through the Internet to the official page of the Directorate General of Traffic.
  3. On the right side of the screen you will see a link that says Payment of fines.
  4. You can recognize it because it has the drawing of a police officer.
  5. Then, click and follow the instructions in the heading Payment of fines online.
  6. Also, by telephone you can call extension 060 to pay your traffic fines.
  7. Another option is to use the Post Office or Caixabank branches.
  8. Or also go to a Provincial Traffic Headquarters that you will find in all the provinces of Spain.
